Tropic Plastic CEO Ismail Simjee Honored as 2025 Business Person of the Year

We are incredibly proud to announce that our Chief Executive Officer, Ismail Simjee, has been named the Business Person of the Year 2025.

This prestigious accolade was presented by the Minara Chamber of Commerce during their annual Gala Dinner, held on Friday, October 24th, 2025. This award recognises Mr. Simjee’s outstanding leadership, his dedication to excellence at Tropic Plastic and Packaging Industry (Pty) Ltd, and his significant contributions to the broader business community.

Tropic Plastic and Packaging Industry (Pty) Ltd are the proud winners of the Gold Award at the Prestigious GAPP Awards Ceremony 2024 held on the evening of Friday 25 th October 2024. The Award was in the Category for Flexible Packaging and the Entry was for Sunbake Sourdough Bread.

PROUD WINNER OF THE KZN TOP BUSINESS AWARD 2023 MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR

A very proud Ismail Simjee, the Managing Director of Tropic Plastic and Packaging with the two recent Awards. The award on the LEFT of the photo is the BRONZE AWARD in the South African Category for the “Best Transit Packaging”. The award on the RIGHT of the photo is the GOLD AWARD for the “BEST OVERALL FLEXIBLE PLASTIC IN THE COUNTRY”. This is GOLDPACK’s biggest award of the evening.

The Latest Award was received at the 2016 FTASA Awards in Johannesburg on the 3rd November 2016. We received the GOLD AWARD in the category of FLEXIBLE PACKAGING WIDE WEB PROCESS. Our customer concerned was HALEWOOD International (Pty) Ltd.
